TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Definitions 

​

  • ‘GPDH’ = Green Palm Dress Hire

  • ‘Client’ = means the Client or any person acting on behalf of and with the authority of the Client and/or the ‘cardholder’. The ‘cardholder’ is incorporated into the definition of the Client regardless of whether they are wearing the dress. 

  • ‘Dress’ = any garment that GPDH hires. Inclusive of all dresses, jumpsuits and two-pieces.

  • ‘Hire Period’ = means the period that the Client has been given to hire the dress starting from the day the dress is received by the Client to the day the dress is returned to GDPH. 

  • ‘Hire Fee’ = means the cost of the dress exclusive of drop off, pick up, dry cleaning and other fees. 


 

Acceptance

 

  • The Client’s signature (whether electronic or actual) constitute their acceptance to these Terms & Conditions. 

  • Upon acceptance of these Terms & Conditions by the Client, the Terms are binding and can only be amended with the written consent of GPDH. 


 

Bond 

​

  • For every dress hired a bond is required by the client. 

  • The bond is subjective to each dress. 

  • It is to be paid at the beginning of the hire period (the time of drop off to the client by GPDH, or pick-up by the client from GPDH). 

  • The bond shall be refunded upon return of the hired dress which is in a condition acceptable to GPDH. 

  • To be deemed acceptable, the dress must be in the same condition prior to the beginning of the hired period. 

  • If deemed unacceptable, the full bond or a percentage of the bond may be kept by GPDH. This is determined under assessment by GPDH. 

  • If the Client has not delivered the dress to GPDH at the end of the Hire Period, the bond, full or a percentage, will be lost.

 


 

Drop off and Pick Up

​

  • If the Client chooses to have the hired dress dropped off and/or picked up from the Client’s premises by GPDH, an additional fee will be issued. A prearranged time will be allocated.

  • The fee is subjective to the distance travelled by GPDH and will be paid prior to being dropped off and/or pick up.

  • The first 10km will cost $15 and each 1km thereafter will cost $0.50.

  • GPDH will wait 10 minutes at the Client’s premises. After this time GPDH will leave with the hired dress and the Client must seek another time to have the dress dropped off / picked up. Additional fees will be charged if required to drop off and/or picked up at a new allocated time. 

  • If the Client chooses to pick up / drop off the dress at GPDH, a prearranged time will be allocated. If the Client is later than 30mins past the allocated time, a $20 fee will be charged per hour.

  • If GPDH are not at the premises, the Client must contact GPDH immediately. 


 

Try On Appointment 

​

  • The Client must organise with GPDH for an appointment to try on dresses. 

  • The dresses can be tried on at GPDH premises or at the Client premises.

  • There is no cost associated with the try on appointment at GPDH premises. 

  • A $20 fee will be charged for a 30 minute try on appointment at the Client premises.

  • The Client will have a maximum selection of 5 dresses which GPDH will bring to the try on appointment at the Client premises.

  • If the Client is asked to leave the premises of GPDH, they must do so accordingly. 


 

Hire Period and Late Fees

​

  • Where the dress is not returned to GPDH at the end of the Hire Period then GPDH is entitled to charge additional Hire Fees (i.e. Late Fees) until the dress is returned to GPDH. 

  • The Late Fee will be charged at a fixed rate of 50% of the bond per day.

  • If the client has not returned the hired item within 2 days after the return date, GPDH will consider the item as non-returned and will charge the Client the full bond.


 

Dry Cleaning 

​

  • Each dress hired must be dry cleaned, unless otherwise stated. 

  • Dry cleaning is to be done by either the client or GPDH.

  • If the client chooses to return the hired dress dry cleaned, they will be given 2 additional days to have this done. They must provide a receipt from the dry cleaner to GPDH. The client must notify GPDH at the time of hire if they are dry cleaning the dress themselves. 

  • If the client chooses to let GPDH dry clean the dress, an additional fee will be charged. The fee will be determined by GPDH and paid prior to the Hire Period. No additional hire days will be given to the client.  

 

Replacement 

​

  • If the dress gets lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair, the client will lose their bond.

 

 

Title to Hired Dress

​

  • The dress will always remain the absolute property of GPDH.

  • If the Client fails to return the dress within 2 days after the Hire Period to GPDH then GPDH may attend the premises owned, occupied or used by the Client to take possession of the dress. The bond will not be repaid.
     

 

Defects 

​

  • The Client shall inspect the dress on pickup and notify GPDH of any alleged defect or damage of the dress. 

  • Both the Client and GPDH will sign off on any defect or damage to the hired dress.

  • The Client acknowledges that the dresses are second-hand and are therefore subject to general fair, wear and tear. 
     

 

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations 

​

  • The Hire Fee is strictly not refundable. 

  • If the Client cancels the booking and provides GPDH with one week’s notice in writing, GPDH will issue a credit to be used on another hire within 6 months from the date of cancellation. 

  • The credit will expire (if not used) at the end of the 6-month period. 

  • Once a hire is placed using a credit, it is final and cannot be swapped/amended or cancelled for another credit note.

  • If the Hire Fee of the newly chosen dress is less than the previous dress, then the Client loses the difference in Hire Fee.

  • If the Hire Fee of the newly chosen dress is greater than the previous dress, then the difference is to be paid by the Client. 

 

 

Client Responsibilities 

​

  • The client shall immediately notify GPDH of any damage to the dress that occurs during the Hire Period.

  • At the end of the Hire Period, the Client shall return the dress to GPDH.

  • The Client shall pay the Hire Fee and other Fees prior to the Hire Period at a given time set by GPDH.  

  • The Client shall not alter or make any additions to the dress. 

  • The Client shall not apply fake tan within 48 hours before wearing the dress (if a light-coloured dress). 

 

 

GPDH Cancellation 

​

  • GPDH may cancel these Terms or cancel the hire of the dress at any time before the dress is delivered by giving written notice. 

  • On giving such notice, GPDH shall repay to the client any sums in respect of the Hire Fees.
